Rambul Lhasa Apsos

Stan & Connie Lumbra

Rambul Lhasas got started in England while Connie and I were stationed there. We started much the same as most novices do, with a lot of trial and error. We started with a pet and soon wanted to show. Next I bought Connie a puppy bitch (Ch. Precious as Gold ROM) out of Crufts Supreme Ch. Saxsonsprings Hackensack and as soon as she was old enough to show, we dove head long into the abyss of dogdom. We got help from some friends Sue & Terry Redman, (Redsun Lhasas) and purchased a puppy dog (Ch. Redsun Rags to Riches) from them. They in turn introduced us to Rob & Doreen Richardson (Belazieth Lhasas). These friends got us started in the right direction. We also received advice and support from other notable persons like: Clive Harrold (Remarc), Jean Blythe (Saxsonsprings) and many other noteworthy breeders while we were there. After we were there long enough to get established it was time to head back to the United States. This probably was the most important time in the evolution of Rambul Kennels. With advice from the Richardsons we chose to breed Precious to Ch. Belazieth's Kiewa Mr. Htut. This litter was born a short time before leaving England. We kept two puppies, Ch Great Expectations and Am/Can Ch. Ever so Precious. We were able to get Rags his Junior Warrant (English Title) and show him at Crufts with the help of the Redmans who kept him for a while after we left. When we arrived back in the US, it was like starting all over again. We met Earl and Mary Taillon at one of our very first shows in this country. She introduced us to Joyce Pagan (Pagan Shitzus). Joyce handled our dogs for long while and helped me immeasurably with proper coat care and general care of our animals. We then imported another dog from the Richardsons (Ch. Belathieth's Albert the Great). Mary also introduced us to a very special friend Craig Grein who currently handles our dogs and co-owns dogs with us. Not many decisions are made without his input. We are forever indebted for his expertise and help.

These are some of the Lhasas that we have been fortunate enough to have Owned, Bred, and Loved.
